Pinnacle Holiday Memories
Three of my sons and I have just returned home from a couple of nights at Grand Mercure Apartments Pinnacle Valley Resort in Victoria, and I wanted to let you know how fantastic it was. As soon as we got there I was kicking myself for not booking a longer stay!
The boys were busy the whole time with mini golf, tennis, spas, saunas, swimming, biking and… the big hit, the gym. This time we didn’t go horse riding but next time we will.
One highlight was early the first morning when I quietly snuck out onto the balcony and was delighted by the sight of five rosellas who sat on the railings with me for ages. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to see them up so close - it’s a memory I’ll take with me forever.
I’m really appreciative of the way the Accor Vacation Club resorts are organised, where so many of the activities are free. As a single parent (well…as a parent full stop!) expenses are definitely something I have to keep an eye on, and I love being able to go on holidays in luxurious surroundings without having to fork out for expensive food and tennis racquet hire etc!
We’ll definitely be returning!

Bustling WA Holiday
I am bursting to tell other Members about our wonderful holiday in Western Australia and especially our stay at Accor Vacation Club’s Grand Mercure Apartments Busselton.
In mid September 2006, my husband Ron and I had the opportunity to visit Perth and the Great Southern area, taking in the Margaret River Region, Karri Forest, Denmark and Albany. I started my holiday a week before Ron and I travelled down from Perth to Donnelly River Village to meet up with my bushwalking buddies. I hiked 160km of the famous Bibbulmun track which was tough in sections but the stunning scenery was well worth it.
Ron and I met up in Margaret River and travelled down to Augusta and visited Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where the Indian Ocean meets with the Pacific Ocean. We then headed down to Albany and explored the beautiful and rugged coastline and travelled back up to Busselton as part of our two week touring holiday.
Grand Mercure Apartments Busselton was welcome luxury after our travelling and gave us a chance to relax and unwind for a few days, where we particularly enjoyed the pool and sporting facilities. We visited Busselton township and walked along the almost 2km pier at Busselton Jetty.
Being a Member of Accor Vacation Club has given my family and I great holiday memories and a change in holiday tempo. When we go on holiday we want an adventure, something different and an opportunity to discover another part of our lovely and beautiful country. Bring on the holidays and adventures Accor Vacation Club!

A Pinnacle Birthday Party!
In January last year I used my Accor Vacation Club Membership to book two, 2 bedroom apartments at Accor Vacation Club Grand Mercure Apartments Pinnacle Apartments, Darling Harbour for seven friends and myself to celebrate my birthday.
The apartments were really beautiful and the girls were impressed at how modern, spacious and comfortable they were and the property’s close proximity to everything in Sydney city and the Harbour.
For my birthday dinner, two other friends joined us at Novotel on Darling Harbour where I was able to use my Advantage Plus Dining Card. We ended up getting two buffet dinners valued at $65 each at no charge, in conjunction with a percentage off the bill! With the money that we saved, we could afford to have a big night out after dinner at the Bristol Arms where we danced the night away in their retro style nightclub.
Being an Accor Vacation Club Member has enabled not only me but my family and friends to take advantage of this great Club. Aside from this occasion where I was able to invite my friends, a couple of years ago I sent my mum off to Melbourne for a week at the Novotel St Kilda for her 60th birthday. Being on a pension my mother would never have been able to afford to do this herself. In addition to my mother, I was able to organise a week at the Gold Coast for my sister-in-law for her honeymoon.
I have also stayed in Bali and Sydney using Accor on Request and have holidayed at the Gold Coast using my points. Before joining Accor Vacation Club I would never have been able to afford to stay in quality hotels as frequently as I am able to now.

Family Holiday of a Lifetime!
We joined Accor Vacation Club in 2004 as Bronze Members and saved up our points so that we could have a five week holiday at the end of 2006. In 2005 we upgraded and received a ‘2 for 1’ cruise voucher which we used to cruise the Western Caribbean as part of our trip.
We began our holiday in San Francisco and travelled across the States to Miami, enjoying fantastic accommodation on the way. In Las Vegas we stayed at a lovely resort which was the equivalent of a 5 star hotel in Australia, and in Orlando we hit the jackpot by staying at the stunning Marriot Cypress Harbour Resort. I attended a complementary Latin American dancing lesson with a world renowned teacher and of course we went to Disneyworld, Universal Studios and a plethora of places in the tourist area of International Drive.
The next phase of our holiday consisted of a Caribbean Cruise on the Legend of the Seas ship, organised through Accor Vacation Club Cruises. The food and service were unbelievable. My husband and I got to spend some quality time together as we hardly saw the children (apart from dinner time) as they mingled with the other children or socialised in the ‘Teen Room’.
After the cruise we used another 1,700 points through Interval International and, unbelievably, managed to get a three bedroom apartment during the Christmas period in Buena Vista!
If we hadn’t joined Accor Vacation Club I am sure that we would not have ventured overseas and certainly not for five weeks!

Eastern European Frolic
When our sixteen year old daughter was selected for a Rotary Youth Exchange to Hungary last year, we decided that visiting her was a must. We promptly joined Accor Vacation Club, thinking that the variety of accommodation options it offered would suit the type of flexible trip we wanted, while giving us a structure we could use for planning. And we were right!
Firstly we treated ourself to a second honeymoon (before picking up our daughter!) by swapping our points for a cabin on the cruise ship Splendour of the Seas. Swanning around the Adriatic we visited the wonderful Venice, Athens, Turkey, Crete and Cyprus. In between our entertaining and informative tours, our onshore adventures and fabulous meals on the ship kept us constantly on the go!
Next, we used our points to stay at a quaint Bavarian village called Schliersee at the Alps in Germany. We spent a week catching up with our daughter and visiting Munich where we frolicked at the Hofbrauhaus and perused the much more sobering Dachau.
Finally we visited Croatia where for a mere AUS$45 a night we stayed in a fabulously appointed apartment with beach front and a view over the Adriatic. We soaked up the history, wine, food and shopping of the nearby village Supetar and the stunning old city of Split.
Now it’s back to reality for a while, but not for too long. We are already studying our Accor Vacation Club brochures, wondering where we will head to next!
