Coromandel Life NZ – Scott Hartley
Scott is General Manager at Puka Park Lodge –
After 8 years with Accor in Sydney Australia my last destination was Sebel Busselton just outside of the vibrant Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. Playing host to local, domestic and international guests in a region as diverse as South West Western Australia is truly exciting. It was without question that when I was offered the opportunity to join the diverse team at Grand Mercure Puka Park, I accepted immediately.
Nestled in 25 acres of native, subtropical New Zealand forest, looking out across the volcanic mountainous landscape, my new home is truly spectacular.
The feeling of complete tranquility as you are elevated up the mountainside, immersing yourself amongst the trees in our newly refurbished rooms will never grow old for me. Stylish and modern, the rooms are in contrast to the rugged beauty that surrounds them.
I can certainly see myself enjoying a wine or two with our guests in front of the open fire in the lounge or dining around our stunning fireplace, like no other I have seen, in the newly refurbished Miha restaurant.
My journey to this point in my career has been exciting, but the opportunity that is in front of me is truly inspiring. The new look Grand Mercure Puka Park is an experience we hope our locals will enjoy with friends. I certainly look forward to sharing my amazing destination with our friends from the Coromandel and around the world.
